Ab(used) Mediums

Technology is ambivalent. Dissatisfaction with prefabrication, Ab(used) Mediums.

With the current proliferation of sound/visual art concerts resembling an office setting, I have been exploring different ways of creating physical objects to interface with the computer, creating new ways of performing with the computer as an instrument but without the object itself taking center stage.

Live electronic music performance without looking at the computer screen has been the paradigm in the creation of these software patches. This upcoming presentation of Ab(used) Mediums is an attempt at demonstrating the programs I have developed so far using Pure Data and Python to interact with a Monome physical interface developed by Brian Crabtree of Monome.org.
